Originally a 1-sided 7", this was delayed in favor of releasing a normal 2-sided record. Front cover art is standard for the Eggshell and Four Dead line of 7"s. Interior collage art by the Brutum Fulmen. Edition of 100.

Now that these are almost sold out, we've finally gotten to sending out the review copies.

The pieces on this record use mainly the sounds of computer data and computer transmissions as source material.

  • Moon Boots
Rather than sounding like a fax machine or modem as might be expected from the source material, this has an "outer space" esthetic. This was one of my personal favorite Brutum Fulmen pieces so far, and a breakthrough for me in terms of what I was able to achieve through sound manipulation.

  • Puncture
A short construction of rawer, less manipulated computer data sounds. More like a fax machine but still a rather powerful driving piece if I do say so myself.

  • Unmanned Probe [Encounters Debris, Thrown Off Course, Contact Lost]
This b-side combines processed computer sounds with those squeezed out of piles of scrap metal, the aluminum insides of a portable radiator, and a chain on a metal shelf. Another piece chock full of spacey goodness. This was recorded a year or so after "Moon Boots", when the label decided to do a two-sider. And the sound quality is a noticably a little better in parts.
