Forthcoming
Stuff we've finished recording but
which hasn't yet been released. Anything with a strike mark through it
indicates that I've given up hope that it will ever see the light of day.
- remix Tore H Bøe's Serum (comp)
- When I met Tore (Norway) in NYC at the show we both played in March, he gave me a
copy of his 10", Serum and asked me to remix it for a compilation he wanted to
release. The record is very minimal with just a few drones and small noises occuring
one at a time occasionally throughout the 30 minutes. And there is supposed to be no
jacket or other protection on it - it's subtitled "postal system scratch dj version".
He normally mails them bare, with stamps and address right on the label. But for remix
purposes he gave me one in a paper sleeve. I quickly lost my copy. Luckily I got a
replacement from nice person in the UK, but with it's two trips through the post it has
plenty of noise on it. Somehow, I came up with a piece I'm really happy with,
and I did it in just one day, including a thorough listening to and recording of the
source. Might call it "Spore" and will probably put it on my next CD as well.
- Noise Conglomerate, vol. 5 (comp)
- Another compilation CD of short tracks, this one in the 42-second size so as to fit
99 tracks on the disc. We submitted and extended remix of "Grubs" (originally a 30-second
track earmarked for the dead Jonas Blank 7" comp listed below). [Anti-Everything]
War Between the States (comp)
- Somebody's putting together a compilation that will attempt to compile a 1-minute
track from an artist in each of the 50 United States. Good luck! We sent a representative
for Connecticut, which happens to be an excerpt of some solo feedback improv.
Aegri Somni Vana field recordings (comp)
- A CD or 2CD compilation of all field recordings. We submitted two for possible
inclusion; one recorded in the rain, the other near Route 46 in NJ.
Einstürzende Neubauten tribute (comp)
- We covered "Der Töd ist ein Dandy". The word is that Verbrannte Erde, the
label compiling this tribute is probably stopping all activities.
freedom from... loud (comp)
- The Brutum Fulmen track submitted was "The Lurking Fear". Originally to be a cassette
release, this project is being overhauled for CD. Lineup includes: John Hudak, MSBR,
tac, Mlehst, Alan Licht, Idea Fire Company, Emil Hagstrom, lots more. Well, it sounded
good to me, but this has been on hold so long, I'm assuming it's dead.
[freedom from...]
Kip Kinkle tribute (comp)
- Compilation CD dedicated to the high school gunman. Unfortunately for this comp,
Columbine happened about a year (or more?) after Kip and completely overshadowed him
to the point that as far as I know, everyone's forgotten this earlier shooter. But
I heard from the label and they've cancelled the comp anyway due to lack of decent
submissions. [Menschenfiend].
Jonas Blank 30-second (comp)
- One-sided compilation 7" of a dozen 30 second tracks. Brutum Fulmen track: "Grubs".
[Jonas Blank].
Humiliation (comp)
- Two Brutum Fulmen tracks on this compilation LP from folks in Cock ESP. No date.
Abort the Soul (comp)
- 2xC60 tape compilation with Brutum Fulmen track "Missing A-B". [World Made Flesh].
Kafka tribute (comp)
- CD compilation of material based on the works of Frans Kafka. The Brutum Fulmen track
"The Apparatus" is inspired by the short story "In the Penal Colony".
